Sign Company in New Jersey

We fabricate in the Bronx and install across northern New Jersey, from storefronts in Jersey City and Union City to fleet yards in Newark and Elizabeth. Permits in New Jersey are handled town by town, and we file with the municipality that has jurisdiction over the address before anything is built.

Northern New Jersey is one crossing from the shop, so a New Jersey job runs through the same fabrication floor as a Bronx one. We measure on site, build the sign in the Bronx and send our own crew back for the install, scheduling trips by town so a measurement and an install can share a run instead of crossing the Hudson twice in a week.

New Jersey does not issue a statewide sign permit. Each town or city runs its own construction and zoning review, and the requirements change at the municipal line: what passes in North Bergen may need a variance in Hoboken. Some towns also have a historic preservation commission that reviews signage in a designated district, which is a second approval on top of the municipal permit. We identify the authority for the address, file with it and build only after it signs off.

The commercial geography is different from the city’s. New Jersey runs on strip centers, warehouse parks and dense downtowns: monument and pylon signs read from a curb cut or a parking lot, storefronts on Bergenline Avenue in Union City have narrow fascias that suit a compact cabinet or a 12-foot awning, and Newark’s Ironbound has restaurant facades where fabric awnings and painted signs carry the identity. Port-adjacent blocks in Elizabeth and Newark are truck country, where box truck and cargo van graphics travel further than any wall sign.

Everything is built in-house, which matters when a sign has to match a building standard or a fleet color across state lines. A full cargo van wrap takes one to two days of install, a printed cabinet sign is built on a two to three week schedule, a storefront awning takes two to four weeks depending on the frame, and an LED repair is diagnosed on site before parts are ordered.

Where we actually work

New Jersey, block by block.

Jersey City

Newark Avenue’s pedestrian plaza and the downtown historic districts, where a sign can need historic review before the municipal permit is issued.

Hoboken

Washington Street’s low storefronts and a historic preservation commission that reviews signage across much of the commercial mile.

Newark

Broad Street and the Ironbound, where larger facades and heavier traffic support bigger cabinet signs and awnings over restaurant fronts.

Elizabeth

Port-adjacent warehouse blocks where box trucks and yard signage carry the brand further than the building does.

North Bergen

Tonnelle Avenue’s auto rows and strip centers, where pylon and monument signs are sized to be read from the roadway.

Union City

Bergenline Avenue’s narrow storefronts, where a 12-foot awning or a compact cabinet sign is often the entire sign package.

Paterson

Main Street’s dense retail blocks, where existing frames and older facades decide what can be mounted and how.

Bayonne

Broadway’s low-rise neighborhood retail, where flat panel signs and small awnings fit the building stock better than tall letters.

Local questions

New Jersey: what people ask

Permits, timelines and coverage, answered for this specific market.

Do I need a New Jersey state sign permit?

No. New Jersey does not issue a statewide sign permit; the town or city where the sign is installed does. Each municipality has its own application, drawing requirements and review calendar, and some have a historic preservation commission that reviews signage in a designated district. We confirm which office has jurisdiction over your address, prepare the filing and wait for approval before fabrication.

What does a storefront sign cost in New Jersey?

A storefront quote starts with the sign type. A printed cabinet is priced by face area and mounting height, channel letters by letter count and letter height, and an awning by width and frame. A cargo van wrap is priced by coverage and body complexity, and an LED repair by the component that failed. Municipal permit costs vary by town and are quoted with the job instead of being folded into a flat rate. Photos and a measurement get you a free quote.

Do you install in New Jersey from your Bronx shop?

Yes. We measure on site, fabricate in the Bronx and install with our own crew, so the people who built the sign are the people who put it on the wall. Install trips are scheduled by town so several New Jersey jobs can share a run, and the permit filing is handled by us rather than left to the landlord.

How long does a sign take in New Jersey?

A printed cabinet sign takes two to three weeks and channel letters take three to five weeks once the artwork is approved. Awnings take two to four weeks depending on frame fabrication, and a vehicle wrap is one to two days of install time. The variable is the municipal review, which runs on the town’s calendar and is checked before a delivery date is set.

Can you wrap a box truck or a whole fleet in New Jersey?

Yes. A full cargo van wrap takes one to two days of install per vehicle, and fleet programs template one design across the units so colors and placement stay identical. Vehicles are scheduled one or two at a time so a working fleet is not sitting in the yard waiting for a bay.
